Team Yotru
Jeffrey Huis in 't Veld and I, Zaki, have been deep in build mode. Honestly, we’ve been rolling out features so fast that I’ve had trouble sitting down to write this. Every time I thought, "Okay, now’s a good time to share an update," something new and exciting would ship that very afternoon!
Believe me... it’s a good problem to have 😀
One thing that’s been especially rewarding is seeing how people are using the resume builder. Most users who finish their resume end up paying to download it. That was always the idea - to bank on the IKEA effect. Let people build something that feels like theirs. When they see the value, they’re happy to own it.
Of course, it hasn’t been easy, there have been some bumps and knocks on the road. But we’re not slowing down anytime soon. That’s the best part about working on a startup. You can ship fast, get feedback, and improve in real time.
So here’s a quick update on what’s new at Yotru the last two weeks:
We’ve grown our template library to over 70 resume samples. They’re all optimized for ATS, and many follow the FAANG-style of clarity and impact. Some are clean and minimalist, others bold and structured. There’s something for everyone. And yes, more are on the way.
A lot of our global users requested this, and now it’s live. You can add a profile photo to any resume template. Totally optional, but now a photo is supported if you want it.
We noticed that many people were building resumes straight from their phones. While Yotru is built desktop-first, we’ve improved the mobile experience so it’s much easier to use now. Faster load times, smoother edits, and a cleaner interface.
This one feels really good. Some of our users were already sharing Yotru with friends and other job seekers. So we built an affiliate program to support that. It’s our way of saying thanks and giving back to the community we’re building together.
We’ve got a lot more coming, especially heading into August. But for now, if you haven’t already, give the builder a try. It’s fast, simple, and honestly kind of fun.
Thanks for all the support. We're building this with real people in mind.
You can feel it in the product.
